1 Leeds Festival


Leeds Festival is a huge UK rock music festival, showcasing the very best in rock music alongside a diverse lineup that spans from house and techno to grime, drum and bass and more. Rock royalty such as Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Muse and Foo Fighters have all played at the festival. Leeds Festival 2020 will take place on Thursday, 27th – Sunday, 30th August 2020.




2  Leeds International Film Festival


The largest film festival in England outside London. Founded in 1987, it is held in November at various venues throughout Leeds. The program has five categories: Official Selection, Retrospective, Cinema Versa, Fanomenon and Short Film City. The Official Selection hosts special previews and screenings of some of the most anticipated and acclaimed films of the year, as well as showcasing new discoveries from international independent filmmaking.



3 Leeds International Festival 2020


The participatory festival was unleashed in the city on April 2017 and smashed all targets. It transformed the city into a place where creativity thrived, where locals and visitors came together to exchange ideas and showcased Leeds as a truly international destination. Attracting the world’s leading creators, innovators, thought-leaders and pioneers to Leeds to discuss and present new ideas for the world of tomorrow.



4 Leeds Pride


First taking place in August 2006 as Leeds gay pride supported by the city council and local business with 6,500 attendings. In 2009 this had grown to 12000 participants with businesses throughout the UK sponsoring the event over and 1,000 people marching in the parade. In 2016 its tenth year the name changed to Leeds Pride and over 40,000 people descended on the city.



5 Leeds Half Marathon


With its city center start and finish, the Leeds Half Marathon brings excitement, color, crowds and a great atmosphere to the heart of the city. A mass warm-up ensures that everyone is raring to go and the race gets underway at 9.30 am on The Headrow next to Victoria Gardens. This Popular run raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity every year and attracts around 7,500 runners to the city streets.
